The Nagoya City Museum is a history museum featuring the Owari area including Nagoya. The Museum collects and preserves archaeological materials, ancient books/written documents, arts/crafts, and folk art items. These historical items are studied and opened to the public through exhibitions.
The permanent exhibition, “History of Owari” describes the history of the Owari area from the Old Stone Age to the modern era in a visitor-friendly manner, through historical materials and reconstructions.
The Museum also introduces valuable cultural properties from around the world, and regularly holds special exhibitions and exhibitions of stored items featuring local history and culture.

Access From Nagoya Station to Sakurayama Station on the Subway Sakuradori Line – Tokushige direction (approx. 16 mins, 270 yen), an approx. 5-minute walk from Sakurayama Station
Opening hours 9:30-17:00 (entry closes at 16:30)
Admission fees Adult: 300 yen; University/senior-high student: 200 yen;
Child/junior-high student: free; Elderly: (65 or over, residing in Nagoya) 100 yen
Closed Mondays (open in the case of a public holiday and closed on the following business day)
The fourth Tuesday (excluding public holiday)
